A practitioner recognized for both his artistry and his ability to build the hell out of stuff, David is principal and founder of Meyer Studio – Land Architects. Prior to launching his Berkeley, California, studio, David was a partner at PWP and cofounded both Schwartz Smith Meyer and Meyer Silberberg. He was winner of the Rome Prize in 2000/01 and made a fellow of the ASLA in 2016. David has been an adjunct professor at UC Berkeley for 25 years where he teaches the capstone studio for graduate students in the School of Environmental Design. His class instills an appreciation for beauty through a rigorous approach to concept, aesthetics, and execution. In February of 2025, Meyer Studio curated its work for “Moving the Spirit by Shaping the Earth”, an exhibition at the Bauer Wurster Hall Gallery, UC Berkeley.
